Indian Creek Trail

The Indian Creek Trail is a mile and a half long trail within the city limits of Hood River, connecting Union Street to Third Street. In spring, the sweet scent of cottonwoods and a barrage of blue money plants surround the trail. It leads through meadows and onion fields in the Strawberry Mountain Wilderness.

The trail meanders around a hillside affording the hiker views of the confluence of Hood River and Indian Creek from above. Recently, there has been the formation of a coalition of Hood River residents, which plans to push for the extension of the Indian Creek Trail to Post Canyon, thus bringing the Indian Creek Trail closer to the path of the planned Chinook Trail.

The two trailheads of the next segment are located off Indian Creek Road. The first trailhead can be found at the west end of Hood River Valley High School parking lot, while the other trailhead is just South of the High School, just off of the ball fields parking lot.
